Affordable Website DesignAffordable website design and development can best be accomplished by keeping several things in mind. Firstly, affordable doesn't necessarily mean cheap. Cheap often means "not that good." If you're building an online presence, you really don't want to go cheap when going cheap means "not that good." Secondly, many of the aspects of building a website that people often pay other people to do, you can actually do yourself. On this site, I'll try to list as many options as possible so that you can make a decision as to what's best for you ie. should you do it yourself or should you pay someone else to do it for you? So far, the only thing I've paid someone to do for me was to design a customer header and some graphics for one of my other sites. Everything else, I've done myself. I wrote all my own content. I wrote all my own articles. Basically, I'm in charge of my own destiny! If you've done any research you've probably come across many people suggesting that you borrow other people's content (ie. articles) and put these articles on your website. Basically, they suggest that you pad your website with other people's content. The problem with this is that search engines are increasingly frowning on duplicate content ie. identical content that is found on many different websites. In that regard, your best bet is to write your own, original content or to get someone (ie. hire them) to write relevant, original content for you. Plus, when you write your own content you're writing in your own voice and are giving your visitors your experience with your personality injected into it.
