Writing Articles To Increase Visitor Traffic And To Build Credibility

I've written numerous articles that are posted on my own websites and I've also written some articles that I allow people to post on their website.

Let me explain both options and why you might consider using these strategies, too.

1. Posting Articles On My Own Website:

In general terms, an Internet "article" is usually a page that contains perhaps 200-600 words and discusses one particular topic.

On my career management website, I've dedicated an entire page to the articles I've written on various job search and career topics. Check out this URL to view my career articles page: http://www.find-your-dream-career.com/career-articles.html.

These articles are not available to reprint on other people's website because they are my own original content that I want to keep for myself and are part of my website.

2. Writing Articles And Allowing People To Reprint Them On Their Website:

I also write articles specifically so that I can offer people the ability to reprint them on their website for free, as long as they don't change the content in any way and in exchange for me adding links to my URLs at the bottom of the articles.

Why would I do this and what benefit do I get out of it?

What is the difference between an "article" and a plain old regular"web page?"

My articles tend to be short pages of between 200-600 words as mentioned above. They focus on one, specific topic and aim to provide a bit of information to my readers to answer a question or to explain a topic and to build up my credibility in their minds.

My regular web pages are usually longer than 200-600 words and although they focus on one main topic, usually offer links to related pages in order to keep my visitors on my website and to illustrate to them why they should continue to surf my site.

You might choose to focus your pages differently but that's how I structure mine!
