How To Find Link Partners And Exchange Links With Them
Should you exchange links with other websites?
Link trading refers to agreeing to post someone else's URL on your website in exchange for them doing the same with one of your URLs of their website. When you exchange links, two things can happen: First, building up incoming links on your website (ie. links that lead people from another website to your website) can build up your visitor traffic and cause more people to visit your site. Second, exchanging links can improve your Google PageRank. If you have the Google Toolbar installed on your computer, look up at the PageRank on the toolbar and hover your mouse over the bar. You'll see a number between 0 and 10 a green line if the number is greater than 0. A PageRank of 10 means that web page is very popular and has many incoming links to the page while a ranking of 0 denotes that the page is unpopular or unranked as of yet. In general terms the more incoming links you have from other websites, the higher your PageRank will be. The quality of your incoming links will also help to determine your PageRank. In other words, you ideally want to exchange links with websites that have a good PageRank and are quality sites. This is key. When you want to exchange links to get more inbound links to your website, there are three legitimate ways to do it: 1. A person sees your website, likes it, and simply adds a link on their website to your website. Obviously in this case, you don't actually have to do anything as the person chose to link to your site on their own. 2. You agree to trade links with another person and agree to place each other's URL on your respective websites. 3. You receive incoming links to your site from writing articles or utilize other techniques where you add links to your website at the end of the article. I discuss this technique and how I've successfully used it on my Build More Website Traffic page. Above, I referred to three "legitimate" ways to build your incoming links and the reason I use the word legitimate is that some people might choose to purchase large numbers of links to build up their links quickly. Search engines know the games that people play on the Internet and this technique could end up hurting more than helping. When it comes to link trading, your best bet is to link with good quality sites only. Also, try to exchange links with sites that are relevant to the topic your site discusses because it ensures that the links add value to your visitors. For example, if your site is about dogs, you probably wouldn't want to add a link to a website about lawn bowling. On my career-management website, I might link with good-quality sites that focus on resume writing, job searching, etc. because they are relevant sites to my topic. How do I manage my link trading strategy? I let SiteBuildIt's Value Exchange program do it for me! Value Exchange enables me to find people who have good quality, relevant links and allows those same people to find me.
