How I Set Up My Home Office

My home office is fairly standard in terms of set up but it works for me!

The way I’ve set it up is fairly minimalist but I have everything I need to work from home and to work online.

In fact, what I have would probably suit people who are self-employed or who work for a company but are able to work from home a few days (or more) per week.

Here are some suggestions regarding setting up your home office based on how I’ve set up mine.

The main parts of my home office are my:

Computer
Should you get a desktop computer or a laptop? Would you actually use a wireless Internet connection? I wondered the same thing...then I realized what would be best for me.

Computer Printer
A computer printer can come in handy for printing various documents, contracts, etc related to your work. An all-in-one-printer that also has a scanner, copier and fax machine is even better...Here's what I chose.

Internet Security Software
You cannot surf the Net without Internet protection. It would like playing Russian roulette with your data. What Internet protection device(s) am I talking about? Check out this page to find out.

Data Back Up
My computer's hard drive died in March 2006 but I didn't lose all my data and files. My computer then ended up dying completely in June 2006 but again, I didn't lose my data. How did I do it?

My Browser
There is more than one choice of browser and I decided to switch mine.

If you're going to work online, you'll certainly need a computer and if you have a computer you'll probably want a printer, you'll definitely need Internet security protection, and you should get data back up.
