Pay Per Click Advertising: Using PPC Advertising To Drive Targeted Visitors To Your Website
Pay per click advertising or simply PPC refers to paying search engines to prominently display ads that promotes your website.
PPC advertising is one of the methods that webmasters like myself can use to promote our websites and products on the Net to build up traffic to our website. Essentially, you pay the search engine to display ads of your choosing on their search engine results page, on other people’s websites, and through advertising networks. When someone clicks on your ad, the search engine charges you a fee – perhaps a few cents or even several dollars depending on the popularity of the keyword.
With PPC advertising, you are paying for the traffic to be sent to your site but since you write your own ads, you’re getting targeted traffic. The better your ads, the better the chance that you’ll receive captive visitors to your site who are likely to buy from you. Obviously if you’re just running a personal website for fun with little or no opportunities to earn money from it, you’re probably not going to want to pay for traffic to your website. If you run a website that sells a product(s) or service(s) or has some other means of monetization, pay per click advertising might be an option for you. Depending on the program you choose, you can set your own budget, pick your own keywords, write your ads and do many other things to help maximize the impact of the ads while minimizing the expense to you. There are many options available to you but here’s what I use for pay per click advertising since it’s an option I’m most familiar with.
I use the Google Adwords program to buy advertising to promote my ebook Recruiter Secrets Revealed. It enables me to target visitors who are actively searching the Internet for information regarding job searching, career management and other related terms.
