Setting Up A Testimonial Website

A testimonial website can be an effective idea for a website to promote other people’s products.

For example, some people will set up a website that promotes several related and often competing products by structuring the website in a way that describes and critiques each product so that visitors can see each product side by side and decide which product they want to buy.

The person who runs the website will have set themselves up as an affiliate of each of the products they promote so if their visitors buy any of these products through their website, they get paid.

Specifically, if you decided to set up a website promoting computer registry cleaning software products for example, you could set up a website comparing 4 or 5 similar products, describe the pros and cons of each product, and then offer your visitors a live URL link that they could click on that would take them to the sales page for each respective product.

If your visitor clicks on any of your sales links and then buys the product, you get paid.

Of course, if you’re going to describe each product properly it would help if you actually owned the product in advance.

Also, if you’re going to offer pros and cons of products, it doesn’t really make a lot of sense to promote products you don’t really like and expect customers are going to ignore your negative comments and buy the product anyways.

Sure, you want to be honest in your assessment of the product but if it isn’t any good, why would you promote it?

I’ve actually seen testimonial websites that slag products – and in some cases even rate the product with 1 or 2 stars out of 5 – and then expect people will purchase it!

There are plenty of good products sold on the Internet that you can compare without having to choose crappy ones to include on your site which may cause you to lose credibility with your visitors when they wonder why you are mentioning products to them that aren’t very good in your opinion.
