I remember that back in February 2004 when I started working online, I was a newbie as well and I was just starting to find out about all the great online options.

The question was figuring out what works and what doesn't, what I should do and what I should avoid doing.

I found some people's advice was useful while others were basically just self-serving sales pitches.

I've always felt that writing is one of my stronger points so I felt that setting up CarlMuellerOnline.com would be a great way to "pay it forward" and give back what I've learned.

Basically, I took the knowledge I had and put it into practice in the form of this website.

Better still, I can point to proof that my websites work.

Specifically, I can prove to you that not only do my websites look good, but they are also websites that get traffic.

The bottom line is that to build a successful website you need to build a site that not only looks good but is also one that gets visitor traffic too.

In other words you need to build a site that appeals to both the search engines and your human visitors. You don't want to waste time using silly SEO tactics (if you don't know what SEO means, don't worry) and try to fool the search engines. They'll eventually catch up with you.

Instead, you want to build quality content on your site to attract your visitors and keep their attention.

We all know something, we all have some expertise and experience that other people will be interested to read about, so it's just a matter of doing some brainstorming to come up with ideas and then narrow them down to the best choice for you.
